The Brief
Create a community centre on the grounds of a Grade II listed property. To include church, events hall, library, workshops and residential accommodation.
The Solution
Having noticed the almost monastic layout of the grade II listed property, we arranged the layout accordingly to have the least visual impact and no harm (physical or visual) to the historic fabric. Where possible, we proposed the existing fabric upgrade to improve energy efficiency. We specified appropriate materials and details that will maintain the breathability of the historic fabric.
